Sunless Tanner Review: Isle of Paradise Butter

To know me, is to know I LOVE sunless tanners. I like to try different brands and applications all the time and share my favorites.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  1. Always exfoliate in the shower prior to applying any sunless tanners.

  2. Moisturize! These tanners tend to dry out your skin, so it’s always best to moisturize later that day or the next day if you haven’t showered it off. Even in-between applications and after showing, you should apply a moisturizer every day.

  3. I almost always shower at night before bed. So when I’m testing a tanner, one of the things I look at is if it transfers to my sheets or pajamas. Of course, if it does, I’ll be sure to share that with you.

  4. Your knees and feet and ankles are the worst body parts to apply to. It helps if you mix the tanner with a moisturizer or apply one prior to the tanner in those areas.

I started using the Isle of Paradise Tanning Drops a few years ago and I love them! So when they came out with this butter, I was SO excited to try it.

I love buying the butter from QVC because they always have great sales and you can get a package of the butter and a bottle of the drops for a great price!

Overall review: Works great! My feet and ankles tend to look a little crazy if I apply too much but I never take my own advice about using a moisturizer for those areas. ;) I just throw it on quickly after the shower and forget about it. I love this one honestly. I use it a lot and always feel nice and tan for awhile after it!

Smell: Smells so good! It has a floral scent when you first put it on- it’s not your typical sunless tanning smell.  Once it dries, it doesn’t have a smell to me but my husband said it smelled a little like a. normal sunless tanner.

Application: Since it’s a butter, the consistency is a very thick lotion so it goes on a little thick. You have to apply it kind of quickly because it dries fast on your skin and then you can easily forget where you applied it.  Best thing is to do small sections at a time!

Longevity:  It lasts for about a week!  That’s with showering, of course, but no exfoliating.  The more you moisturize, the longer your tan will last!  I love to use the Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Milk in-between sunless tanning applications.  It helps to keep your color and keep your skin moisturized.  Otherwise, just classic Palmers cocoa butter is the best for your skin!
