Our little stargazer is 1!

A huge mix of emotions: happy, sad, overwhelmed, relieved and so much love.

Some of my favorite shots have me running out of the frame after I sat him down. He would crawl away so fast unless he was being entertained! They are so real and candid, and those are definitely the memories I want to keep forever.

He was our everything and that was the best feeling and scariest feeling in the world.  Our little Luca changed us.  We are forever grateful to him for that.

It seems a little late to write this post but I wanted to make sure I really reflected on it before I shared.  The first trimester was not easy, honestly for either of us.  Which is why I think it’s important to share the first trimester, from both perspectives.

Our midwife called him a stargazer.  He was face up when he came out, which she said is a much harder way to get them out.  But he was face up and eyes open, and ready to be here.  I love that she called him a stargazer, bc his room theme is stars and the moon.  It just fit so perfectly.  

When I first started thinking about my hospital stay, I knew I also wanted to bring something for my nurses.  Nurses in general are some of the hardest working people, but labor and delivery nurses are a whole other breed! 

Everyone has been asking for months to see Luca’s nursery.  We promise we were not trying to hid it!  Some last minute changes were made and we were still finalizing things, so I wanted to wait to share it.

Everyone keeps telling me to really enjoy these last moments with my bump.  They all say how much I will miss it when Luca is finally here and my body is “back to normal”.  I can definitely see now, finally, what they have been talking about. 

This last weekend was my baby shower!  I decided on a blue agate theme baby shower, and was so thrilled with how it turned out.  My sister and my moms (and SO many others) worked so hard to make it the most wonderful day.  Oh, and we just so happened to announce his name at the shower! 😉

To be totally honest, it wasn’t a planned shoot at all.  I knew I wanted to bring a few maternity gowns and dresses with me on our trip to California.  I also knew that there was a good possibility we would be too busy or too tired to even take these pictures.

It’s a BOY!

On Easter Sunday, we hosted our gender reveal party for baby Levell.  So it was only natural that we chose an Easter/bunny/pink and blue theme.  

At 28 weeks, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  I am now 32 weeks and dealing with it the best I can honestly.  8 more weeks to go, unless Luca decides to come early!

If you watched my Instagram stories this week, I mentioned a new collaboration I’ve been working on.  Nope, it’s not with any of my favorite designers or stores.  This one is with my husband…   I guess it’s more of an announcement…
